November 2024

Hello Folks!

Now we are bringing you up to date on November! As we said in the previous blog post we have been revamping the website as well as normal busy fall season things taking place so we opted to post pone the blog posts and give you a treat of the 2 new posts all together. November was spent mostly trying to get the website finished and hunting. It has been a cold month on the farm with having the first snow even! Farming continued on it’s normal pace with very little new happening.

Summary of November:

  • Herd getting their first hay

  • Piggies enjoying pumpkin season

  • Website Revamp!

  • Little Farm Hand Update

  • SNOW

The Herd

This month the herd grazed in the last of the bottoms and we moved them to a field where they grazed and then fed them the first of the winter hay. We kept them in one field for the month to keep them out of rifle hunting range so as to not change deer patterns and to get more carbon and trampling on this particular field. The are never very willing to settle with hay when they came off of grazing but they finally become agreeable…

The Pigs

The pigs thoroughly enjoyed this years pumpkin season. We did a lot of canning this fall and of course we love to turn the scraps into bacon. These piggies devoured their pumpkin delights as well as lots of other canning treats this month! The definitely hit the growing point now because in a month they doubled in size!

Website Revamp

As we mentioned before and as you can see visiting the website we did a full website update and revamp. We took most of the month of October and November to work on the website which is why it’s been pretty quite. We hope that the everything is easier to navigate for you and ordering processes will be more straight forward. We will still have our newsletters which will now be called BLOG POSTS (in case there is any confusion). We hope everything works smoother for you now.

Little Farm Hand

It’s been a while since we have shared an update about Little Farm Hand. She is growing so fast and has become more and more apart of the daily farm work. As she is moving closer to 6 years old, schooling is becoming a regular thing in her life along with farming. There is always so much for her to learn and often hard to keep her indoors for the book learning.

That's All Folks

We couldn’t end this month’s posting without making mention about the first snow! We ended up getting roughly an inch of wet snow during deer rifle season which made for some cold but beautiful hunting. November was a cold and beautiful month with projects accomplished and deer harvested and a blessed holiday to remember how grateful we are for the Lord’s faithfulness to us. We thank you for visiting with us today and hope to see you for next month’s post. Have a wonderful rest of your day!
