May 2026

Hi Yall!

We hope you all have had a wonderful May!  It has been a very cool May for us which has been so refreshing but so uncommon.  The animals have liked it except the chickens.  They have been pretty cool this month but they have been doing well.  We hope you all have had a blessed memorial day with friends and family remembering the sacrifices that so many men and women have made for us to have a the freedoms that we enjoy.  Now lets get to the update for this month.

Summary for May:

  • The bull is in his happy place
  • Happy muddy pigs
  • Pasture Chickens
  • Maintenance on equipment

The Herd

The herd has continued to graze through the tall grass.  Due to the drought like conditions we have had this month we have been very careful with out grazing to make sure that the fields aren't over grazed and have the ability for regrowth.

Happy Bull

So, our bull, Captin, decided he had enough of the separation from his ladies.  He still had 2 more weeks to go but decided that was too long.  He made his way through a gate and was very proud to show us that he was with the cows.  So, a bit early but he now doing his job in the herd.

The Pigs

The piggies have not enjoyed the dry month we have had.  They come up as ask as politely as a pig can for a piggy spa.  They come up doing their chatty grunt and nudge us with their noses.  When we spray the water they dance!

The Chickens

We moved the broiler chickens out in pasture this month and they have done very well.  They have grown a little slower which we wondered was due to the cooler weather.  Other then that, they are doing well and living the best life they can in the pasture.  Moving to new grass every day and eating as much as they want.

Equipment Maintenance

Running a farm has a lot of maintenance that comes along with it.  The excavator has needed yearly maintenance done and Little Farm Hand wanted to help Daddy with it this time.

That's a Wrap

Thank you everyone for taking the time to visit with us today.  It's been a full month with lot's of blessings.  We appreciate the time that you all take to see what is happening on the farm and keep up with the monthly updates.  We hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and we will see you next time!
