Hey Yall! July is almost over and what a unique month it has been! The special 4th of July celebration that we had this year definitely was a high light and a unique time of reflection and thankfulness to the Lord for His providence over the United States of America. May we never take it for granted. This month was an interesting one. We had some very extreme heat and humidity that did put some stress on some animals this month. We are thankful for the weekly rains though which is keeping the grass growing well and lush to a point we can't keep up with it! Let's get started with our update.

The Herd
The cows are doing pretty well this month. We had some bumps in the road with the heat and humidity increase that put a strain on the herd while they were on the ridge but we have since rapidly moved them down the ridge to get them to the bottoms where it is cooler and more shaded for a while! They are grazing well on the lush salad bar of grasses and especially liking the clover in the fields!
The Pigs
Yes, there is a pig section in this blog again even though we have hauled pigs for Summer Pork already. We didn't sell all of our pigs this summer unfortunately and were left with a few. They are the happiest pigs simply because they have the run of the field. With that we will not be doing Winter pork this year due to the lack of sales this summer.
Little Farm Hand doing Big Work
Little Farm Hand is not so little anymore! She is coming into her own with help on the farm and becoming quite the right hand little girl! She has recently started reeling up fence on her own and is quiet proud of it, as are we! While Matt is away on forestry details this summer she is being a huge part of keeping the farm running smoothly!
Abundance!
The Lord is faithful in so many big ways! This year He has been showing Himself providential in the small ways too. We had a rough start to our egg production this year which was hard at the start of market season. Now, we are getting so many eggs we are tight on space! Our personal garden has also been such a blessing as plants have been growing so well it's been challenging to navigate! The Lord is so providential in the big things and we appreciate it when we recognize His providence in the little things too!

This month was busy but with the normal business of life! We had a few hard day but the Lord was faithful to bring us through them and draw us closer to Himself!
