February 2026

Hello Everyone!

February is just about wrapped up and what an crazy month with weather and planning on the farm.  We are still in the season of feeding hay primarily awaiting spring growth to come in.  The weather has definitely kept that winter feel minus a few days making cows lazy and appreciate the cold.  We have several new things to update you all on so lets get started!

Summary for February:

  • Cows ready for the green
  • New piggies on the farm!
  • Snowy start to February
  • Website finally switched

The Herd

The cows are still primarily still on hay and greatly anticipating the day of grass is growing and rotational grazing starts.  With the few warm days we have had pop in the fields have started greening but still too early for growth.  This time of year is when we count down the days of rotational grazing when the cows can be on the best of the best!

The Pigs

We have new piggies on the farm!  There are an adorable bundle of 7 in the barn for the winter as they are trained to electric.  We have been wintering pigs in the barn with deep bedded mulch to keep them warm and sheltered during the cold season.  These little porkers are eating a lot of food already to hopefully they will grow nice and big for Summer Pork!

Snowy February

As a lot of our region were predicted we got a good snow to start February out.  We got roughly 5" of beautiful fluffy snow that then did freeze.  The cows thankfully respected fences and everyone stayed where they were suppose too.  We enjoyed some fun snow time too!

Website Final Switch

As you all can see the website is fully switched to our new host.  We are still working out the kinks and smoothing things out so please continue to bare with us.  Definitely look through and check out the new look!

That's A Wrap

Well, that wraps up February.  This has not been a very busy work month but this season is when we do a lot of planning and behind the scenes work in prep for the year.  We thank you for taking the time to visit with us today and look forward to next month's update.  Have a wonderful rest of your day!
