Hi Yall!
Merry Christmas! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family celebrating the Birth of Christ the King of Kings! We had a quiet and restful Christmas which was a blessing. This is normally the season we can take a breath and enjoy some slower days on the farm. It has been a wet month so far which makes it even easier to stay in and cozy up and do just a few needed chores. Because this is the last email of the year we will touch on a few farm updates and wrap up 2024!

Huge Thank You
As we come to the end of the year we want to give a huge shout out and thank you to everyone of you who has given us the opportunity to provide you and your family with quality and nutritional meats! We can’t do it with out the support you all give by choosing us to be your supplier of meats. It’s been a leaner selling year and we understand that economic pressures are straining. So we really appreciate those of you who filled your freezers with Ararat Meats this year! We hope that we can continue to serve you into this new year as 2025 approaches!
The Herd
This month the herd is fully into winter grazing. We didn’t have much of a winter stock pile of grass this year so the herd’s main diet is hay with some fresh winter salad bar treats mixed in. They are nice and fluffy due to the cold weather which makes the calves especially cute!(this is one of a few sunny days)
Big Move
At the beginning of the month we moved the herd across the creek before we had any big floods. Usually we do everything on foot because of the calm temperament of the animals but occasionally we will move them on horse back which is always so much fun!
The Pigs
The Piggies are in their final weeks before their one bad day and they are making the absolute most of it. Of all the animals on the farm the pigs have loved the rain the most! It, of course provides them with ample mud to roll around and play in!(this is one out of very few sunny days)
