August 2025

Hello Everyone!

We hope today finds you well and blessed as the summer continues on and the days stay hot and steamy. We are definitely staying busy with keeping cattle moved on twice a day rotations. Lots of fencing, and keeping up with normal chores as well as continuing with corral construction. The market is still going strong despite a few challenges that came up. We have been so blessed with a lot of rains that have helped all the fields recover from the large herd. The piggies have greatly appreciated the rains keeping the ponds nice and full for them. Well, let’s get into the full update…

Summary for August:

  • Fast Grazing

  • Behaving Buffalo

  • Playful Piggies

  • Another Corral Update

  • The Best Farm Hand

The Herd

The herd is grazing well and very swiftly through the fields. The salad bar of grass include some summer grasses and a large variety of weed foliage and the start of winter grasses (which are a little slow in the summer heat). We are doing twice daily moves which is keeping them fat and happy…and lazy.

The Bison

The Bison have been behaving for the last few weeks and have been staying in their fences with the cows. They have looked really good and end up being the first ones to come to a call to move to the new paddocks.

The Pigs

The piggies have been continuing enjoying the rain and hiding on the hot and sunny days. They have been very happy pigs getting summer garden treats. They will make amazing Winter Pork!

Corral Update

The corral is making progress! We have gotten almost all the outer part of the corral completed then we have the inner walls and gates to complete. We are down to the wire before we need to sort for Fall Beef soon.

The Best Farm Hand

Little Farm Hand has been the best farm hand ever. She is so excited to be big enough to be able to help and ride the 4-wheeler with chores. She has been a blessing and is so blessed to be living the life she gets to live!

That’s A Wrap

That pretty much brings you all up to date to the latest on the farm. It’s been busy but the normal busy keeping us hopping. The Lord has been faithful and we are thankfully for His direction as we strive to steward His land. Thank you all for visiting with us today and we look forward to visiting with you all next month. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
